BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse – Blogger Mom Approved

I asked my son where he wanted to go eat for his birthday. And he said, “BJ’s, I want a Pizookie!” If you don’t know what a pizookie is, it’s freshly baked cookie topped with ice cream and served in a deep dish. But when your five year old remembers exactly where he wants to go eat and the name of the dessert, you know you have to bring your family to BJ’s.  This has been our family go-to spot since my boys were little. My 2 year old is so picky, and the BJ’s menu options are perfect for any finicky toddler. So I was excited when I found out that my mama tribe was getting together at BJ’s for our get together.

Let’s talk about the BJ’s relaxed ambiance. The lights are dim, the latest sports game is on, and there’s the sound of chatter. You can dine at the bar and enjoy some drinks with your girlfriends, or sit at a booth with your family.

Dining in? There are a variety of food options ranging from healthy New Enlightened dishes to hamburgers and their signature pizza. During our mommy brunch, we tasted a variety of appetizers: Loaded Nachos with Trip Tip which included crispy corn tortilla chips with housemade sriracha queso, melted jack and cheddar cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and jalapenos. The Best Beginnings Appetizer Combo comes with spinach and artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks, avocado eggrolls and boneless wings which is perfect for a group.

For our main course we feasted on a variety of dishes. The Kale Brussel Salad includes a nice balance of fruit (blueberries and grapes), dried cranberries, cucumbers, goat cheese, pecans and pepitas with a strawberry vinaigrette. The New Enlightened dishes have been my go-to during my FIT4MOM Body Back classes so I was excited to see the Lemon Herb Chicken and Asparagus Zucchini Noodles dish and the Blackened Chicken Zucchini which are so tasty! I’ve never tried their Baby Back Pork Ribs until now and they are delicious! It’s a full rack of slow roasted ribs that are perfect for sharing! The Bistro Burger happened to be my favorite – beef patty with applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, tomatoes, spinach, and red onions topped with goat cheese and roasted garlic aioli. I am salivating just typing it out.

Is there a children’s menu? Yes, and the options are fabulous. My picky two year old loves their spaghetti and happy face fries. Looking for a healthy option? They offer a shrimp bowl with healthy side options. My five year old loves their mini turkey corndogs! Want to know a secret? Ask for children’s starter and receive a complimentary bread roll and bowl of mixed berries. No need to bring a restaurant kit because their menu loaded with puzzles will keep the kids entertained during your visit.

Premier Rewards Perks – Make sure you sign up for the BJ’s rewards program on their mobile app or online. For every $100 spent, you receive $10 off your next visit. Sign up for email notification because you can also receive additional coupons and promotions such as free appetizers or pizookie.

Thanks again, BJ’s – Woodland Hills for hosting us and allowing me to try new dishes and have some mama time with my girlfriends! Are you planning to come to the valley soon? BJ’s – Woodland Hills recently went through a renovation and is perfect for your next outing. It is located near the Topanga Westfield Mall, off the Canoga Exit on the 101 freeway. This is an easy restaurant to get to, self-parking, and perfect for your kids!
